At least 31 protesters have been killed by Iranian security forces, an Oslo-based NGO said Thursday. Iranian Human Rights (IHR) Director Mahmoud Amiri Moghadam issued a statement saying: “The people of Iran have taken to the streets to demand their basic rights and human dignity. And the government responds to their peaceful demonstrations with bullets.” The first protests began over the weekend in the Kurdistan province of Uttar Pradesh. Now it has spread throughout the country.
