News Bureau. Jharkhand Chief Minister in Illegal Mining Case Hemant Soren (Hemant Soren) was invited to the EC. Soren was asked to appear at the Central Investigation Department tomorrow, November 3. ED has already arrested Soren’s associate Pankaj Mishra in this case. On July 8, the ED conducted searches at 18 locations in Jharkhand linked to Pankaj Mishra and his business associates. The conviction came after the ED registered a case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) against Mishra and others in March. After that, the Central Investigation Department has found out the whereabouts of Pankaj Mishra’s illegally acquired 42 million rupees. ED investigation found that Pankaj was close to Chief Minister Hemant Soren. He controlled the illegal mining business as well as inland ferry services in and around Sahebganj through associates. On that basis, the Directorate of Enforcement summoned the Chief Minister of Jharkhand.
