The Supreme Court said that the state government will pay compensation of Rs 2 lakh to the legal heirs of the missing persons from January 22, 1999, with interest at the rate of 9% per annum from January 22, 1999. The Supreme Court has issued directions to pay compensation to the families of the victims of the 1992-93 Bombay riots and has said that if citizens are forced to live there the environment of general tension, that could lead to them under Article 21. has an effect on his life. The court also said that the state government failed to maintain law and order and protect people’s rights under Article 21. As reported earlier, 900 people were killed and more than 2000 injured. Citizens’ houses, businesses and buildings were destroyed. All these are violations of their rights guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution of India.
