KU will organize a “Media and Publishing Conference” on September 26SEDI News

Srinagar: The Department of Publication, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, is organizing a “Media and Publishing Conference” in collaboration with the Public Relations Center of Kashmir University on September 26 in Srinagar.

Prof. Nilofar Khan, Vice Chancellor, University of Kashmir will be the Chief Guest. Eminent speakers expected to address the event include administrators, linguists, academics and domain experts.

The conference will include a session on growth story in various sectors and domains, outreach initiatives by the Ministry of I&B, and development roadmap for the region based on media landscape for youth: opportunities and challenges. A panel discussion on linguistics and the publishing scenario in the region, focusing on the heritage and richness of the languages ​​of the region, the literary work recorded, the publishing scenario, challenges and opportunities ahead; and, discussions on the English language and the craft of writing academic publications.

Also, on the sidelines of the event, in association with CBC, J&K, and Public Relations Centre, University of Kashmir, a book exhibition of selected works of the Publication Department will be held where books in various languages ​​will be on sale. – Discounted rates at Gandhi Bhavan on 25-26 September.

About the Publishing Department

The Publications Division is the repository of books and periodicals of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting which highlight subjects of national importance and India’s rich cultural heritage.
