Two people were killed and 10 injured when a bus coming from Surat collided with a parked truck on the Ahmedabad-Bhavnagar highway on Sunday and Monday night, police said.

A 47-year-old woman from Gir-Gadhada taluka of Gir Somnath district and a 51-year-old man residing in Una taluka in Gir Somnath died in the accident. The injured were rushed to a hospital in Bhavnagar for treatment, officials said.
“Around 1:35 am, a truck stopped on the road due to a problem. Yesterday’s rain could have affected visibility and the bus driver could have lost control of the vehicle and rammed the truck from behind,” HB Musar, sub-inspector of Velavadar Bhal police station, told The Indian Express.
“We are not sure of the exact reason for the accident, but we are locating the bus driver. Once he is arrested, we will have more information,” he added.
